Endangered
Coral reefs play a vital role in maintaining the equilibrium that exists between the ocean and its residents. Our selfish needs and lifestyle has led to the destruction of this equilibrium. Ocean acidification, global warming and the water level rise has led to coral death. Fish, coral and human communities have been affected by this phenomenon. This on-going occurrence is visually communicated in my products. The focus lies on the representation of this issue by showing the form of corals, their softness, layers, colour as well as the process of decolorization. The intent is to explore a variety of fabric manipulation, sewing and surface embellishment techniques throughout the making of these products.
